Rebyc Handbags started almost twelve years ago on my cousins’ kitchen table with a piece of scrap leather and a Danish textile from the 1940s.

With my trusty retro Elna I stitched together something old and something new. As my sewing machine was moving forward on this journey I realized I could redeem these old pieces and give them some sort of new life. They didn’t have to sit in an old box on a shelf somewhere collecting dust, they just needed someone to reveal their worth.

Some of these pieces have been through wars, crossed the high seas, been held by hands that have cared for children, and stayed up countless nights in the company of somebody’s hopes and dreams. To each generation, they offer something different, something unique and special.

So, when you are putting on one of my bags just remember it has a past but it also has a future.
